Under contract with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, PEPPS conducted a statewide comparative risk assessment project to identify environmental problems posing the greatest risks to Florida according to the state's technical community and the citizens at large. Three technical committees selected 12 major problem areas for consideration. Environmental issues were subsequently ranked according to the risks they pose to Floridians' health, quality of life, and the state's ecology. Project staff researched and wrote 28 technical issue papers evaluating the impacts of these environmental problems.
FACT 2 revised indicators of coastal trends published in FACT 1. PEPPS replaced weak indicators with stronger measures, developed new indicators using newly available data sources, and reformatted the document to improve its readability and attractiveness.
Florida Assessment of Coastal Trends (FACT 1) (Oct 94 - Sep 95)
Under contract with the Florida Department of Community Affairs' Coastal Management Program, PEPPS developed a set of environmental, economic, and social indicators measuring progress on nine strategic coastal issues.
SAFE is a comprehensive system of 87 environmental indicators developed by PEPPS in conjunction with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as part of the department’s integrated planning process.
Ecosystem-based Indicator systems (Jan 95 - Jan 96)
Under contract with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, PEPPS developed environmental indicator systems to measure progress on strategic issues identified for two major ecosystems in Florida -- the Hillsborough River and Bay and the Apalachicola River and Bay.
PEPPS developed an enhanced strategic planning process, operational plan, and indicator system measuring progress on environmentally related objectives set by Florida's phosphate industry.

Florida State of the Coast Report (Oct 95 - Sep 96)
The Florida State of the Coast Report summarizes coastal trends on key environmental, social and economic issues measured by indicators developed for Florida Assessment of Coastal Trends (FACT). The project was funded by the Florida Coastal Management Program of the Florida Department of Community Affairs.
