Strategic Assessment of Florida's Environment
(SAFE)

SAFE consists of eighty-seven indicators grouped into
categories that
reflect the thirteen issue areas developed in the FCER
project, as well
as a series of other issues of concern. The purpose of the
SAFE project
is to design a full planning system using environmental
indicators that
can structure existing and future planning activities for
three
individual river ecosystems, the Apalichicola River, the
Hillsborough
River, and the Peace River. The thirteen issue areas are as
follows:
